Elizabeth Scheer is an experienced yoga teacher and massage therapist who is deeply passionate about empowering others to find strength, stability, and awareness both "on the mat" and within their everyday lives. With intense self-study and home practice, Elizabeth has learned to create lean muscle in her body, using only body weight and gravity - achieving her goal of keeping her body strong and fit in her 40's, while eliminating weight training. In so doing, she has relieved herself of acute and chronic pain, has created balance and stability in her physical body and in her life, and feels more confident and stronger than ever before. This has birthed her passion for sharing what she is learning with others. Elizabeth does this by teaching how to find engagement in under-worked/weaker areas of the body; guiding students to move slowly, with control and mindfulness; and helping students become more aware of how to use their breath to go to their edge. This approach empowers students to gain confidence in their yoga practice and in themselves.Elizabeth's teaching is largely inspired by her background in Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga lineages and her dedicated personal practice. She has been a massage therapist and practicing/teaching yoga for more than twenty years, during which time she has developed an in-depth understanding of the physiology of this ancient practice. Her bodywork and yoga experience, combined with her mentorship under Judy Weaver (Founder of Connected Warriors), has helped her gain knowledge of how the body is intended to move, an eye for how to correct misalignment, and a knowing of how effortless one’s practice can feel.E’s home life is shared with her husband Adam, goldendoodle Sir Grenzbegriff (aka Griff) and cornish rex Malika. She is obsessed with the beach for relaxation, skateboarding for cardio and reading for inspiration. E believes that as we heal ourselves, we heal our world—in the way she lives and leads, she hopes to inspire a shifting. others from “no pain, no gain” to “feel it to heal it”.
